Flight of
the Condor is the name of a
successful Peruvian show wich is performed
every day at the Sea World's Nautilus
Theater in Orlando-Florida and produced
by Aedo Enterprises; since 1997 up
to date it has been watched and enjoyed
by more than 5'000,000 people. Although
this original show is developed within
the modern circus concepts introduced
by Cirque du Soleil, it has a personal
and unique style since it is based
on the Inca's culture. This ancient
culture had remained alive in Peru
through the artistic legacy of music
and dance and the ancient traditions
that the Andean populations still
apply in their lives. |
|
José Luis
Madueño had composed and arranged
the music for this show and he is
the Musical Producer for the recording.
This production contains ten compositions,
wich are based on different Peruvian
Andean musical styles and had been
developed on other musical spheres
like rock, pop and symphonic. The
traditional elements used on these
works includes the folk instrumentation
(zampoñas panflutes,
quenas Andean flutes,
charango little guitar,
mandolin and percussion) and the pentaphonic
concepts of the Andean music used
during the Inca's Empire before
the Spanish conquest at the late XVth
century as well as the diatonic
scales that the conquers left. These
elements are developed in a wider
harmonic scheme with new rhythmic
proposals for the Andean Peruvian
music and with the use of actual instruments
like synthesizers, electric bass,
electric guitar and drums. The presence
of the violoncellos and double basses
ensures the symphonic sound in some
compositions. This music, used on
the show since 1999, has been edited
and released by Aedo Enterprises in
Florida, USA. |
